”Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn.

Methodology
Lessons are focused on building your skills in all areas of language learning: speaking, listening, reading, and writing. I use authentic materials including news articles, music, and videos to expose students to real-world language. Every lesson is built around a theme, ranging from ancient philosophy to the latest tech news (and everything in between!). You will have the opportunity to express your ideas both through writing and speaking, while engaging in real-world conversations about relevant topics. Communication is the focus, while simultaneously expanding your vocabulary and reviewing grammatical structures as needed.
Lesson Types
We will spend 60 minutes discussing a specific topic together (technology, art, psychology, culture, etc.). We may also discuss specific grammar points, vocabulary, or use news articles and videos during the class. Written corrections will be given in the chatbox. No homework, exercises, or coursebooks will be given.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you teach children?
At the moment, I am only teaching adults or young people who are above the age of 16. Class material may often contain adult themes and issues.
Can I take a class with my friend/partner?
Yes! It would be helpful if each person is connected on a separate device. Contact me for details.
Do you teach absolute beginners or A0-A1 students?
Unfortunately, I currently do not. My focus is on intermediate and advanced students at the moment.
Do you offer a traditional long-term curriculum? I want to take 2 classes every week for several months. (40+ hour lesson package)
Yes. In this case, I will use a coursebook to design lessons and the student must follow a consistent schedule. Please contact me to discuss your goals and pricing.
Who is your typical student?
I have worked with over 300 students from all over the world— from politicians and dentists to yoga instructors and construction workers. Typically, my students are professionals who have taken English courses in school but now want to improve their skills by working with a native speaker. I have helped students prepare for job interviews and presentations, start their master’s programs, and even adapt to their new lives in America!
Do you use the same material with intermediate and advanced students?
Yes. I designed my class material to work with a range of levels. For example, when reading an article, the focus for an intermediate student will be on general comprehension and pronunciation. For an advanced student, the focus will be on analyzing tone and criticizing the text.
How do you give corrections? Do you teach grammar? Can you help me with pronunciation?
Corrections are often written in the Zoom chat box or on your Google Doc. I avoid interrupting students and wait until they have finished speaking. Grammar is only taught explicitly when a student is consistently repeating a mistake, and it needs to be reviewed. I will correct your pronunciation if it will prevent you from being understood by a native speaker (there is a difference between having an accent and mispronunciation).
Do you speak another language?
Yes. I can speak Greek at an intermediate level. I conduct my classes fully in English.
How can I review the material we used in class?
Every student receives a password to my platform where they can access all videos, articles, and assignments used in class.
Do I need a textbook?
No. I will provide any material that you need.
What is your cancellation and refund policy?
Please refer to italki policies. If you have any uncertainties, please contact me before the lesson. Refunds will only be offered if a class is canceled 24 hours before the lesson was scheduled.
